The first look of the film, released last week, showcased Vidya in a whole new suggestive avatar - that of Silk Smitha.

The first trailer of the Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture, based on the life of southern sire Silk Smitha, was unveiled today.

The film, also starring Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor, is reportedly a hard, realistic look at the life of of Indian cinema's best-known item dancers.

From the director of One time On A Time In Mumbaai, Milan Luthria, The Dirty Picture is based on the tumultuous life of the late screen vamp ,Silk Smitha.
